Offered again since there was a wait list from earlier sessions.
This is a lesson in solo kayaking taught by an ACA certified instructor followed by a 7 mile downstream trip. Instruction time is about 2 hrs on flatwater behind the dam. After a break for lunch in the park, we continue down Antietam creek for the moving water portion of instruction.
Instruction will be in solo kayaks, no tandems.
Antietam creek is a pool and riffle layout so there is a lot of moving flatwater interspaced with short sections of faster, shallower water.
Outfitter supplies kayak, paddles, lifejacket
Fearless leader is the instructor
Kayak rental $40 is from www.antietamcreek.com across the road from the park putin. Prepaid reservations allow us to start on time; it will be a long day as it. Make reservations online prior to event, no walkups
Course materials and instructors costs - $10 cash only at the event.
